ARTIST ON OUR RADAR: Elevator Fight

We all know Zoe Kravitz as the extremely stylish rocker child of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet. But did you know that she’s now in a band? Yup, she’s the lead singer of a six member group named ‘Elevator Fight’ and they’re superstars in the making! (MORE)

Based out of Philadelphia PA, Elevator Fight is influenced by a number of musicians’ sounds notably Michael Jackson, Brutality, and Jameson Irish Whiskey, which creates their unique blend of classic rock, electronic popĀ and punk.

They formed in early 2009 after a fight on Disney World’s Tower of Terror Ride (hence the group’s name) which would later turn strangers into a friendship. Members include Zoe ‘Isabella’ Kravitz (Vocals), Khari Mateen (Bass & Vocals), Dominic Angelella (Guitar & Vocals), Rick Friedrich (Multi instrumentalist), Nick Bockrath (Guitar), and Joe Baldacci (Drums).
So far, they’ve performed at different gigs in Philadelphia and several other events including opening up for The Roots and the annual Afro-Punk festivities in Brooklyn, NY which mainly focuses on the Black Rock/Punk Scene. Following suit to legendary bands with male backers and female front singers like Blondie or Janis Joplin and Big Brother & The Holding Co. Elevator Fight is the new generation of rock n roll innovators.
