TEEN DIARIES: “Final Destination”
by Shayna, 18 (Schuykill Haven, PA)
I know we all have watched the “Final Destination” movies and to some, it was funny and to others it was scary. However, the final destination in college is far from funny, it’s actually scary. It’s finals week here at school. Everybody has their head in a book or hand on a pen. Everywhere you look you see nothing but people studying or their talking about studying like its the hottest ➫ pair of sneakers out. I only had three finals this semester. I aced my theatre final, passed my comm100 final, however the upcoming math final I’m really dreading it. I hate math. I’ve been getting tutored, but for some reason, I just don’t get math. Anyway, the final destination (If you don’t maintain a 2.1) is you get kicked off campus. I don’t think anybody wants to end up there. So in order for everyone to be “successful” they have to study, study, study – they have to do a whole lot of that (In my Trey Songz voice). There is no getting around a final either. You better wake up and be in that seat ready to do what you have to do.
The realization is that college is not high school and your professors aren’t sweet enough to let you retake a test or be so lenient with the fact that you were late or sick. Finals are important regardless of karma, good or bad luck. Studying helps you reach your final destination in college. Once you enter, there’s no return. Speaking of studying, I have to get back to it.
I only have 3 days left in this semester, and then I’m home for a month. Now that’s my final destination.
